Headquartered in New Brighton, Minnesota, LME began operations in 1921 by the Wren family. LME is currently owned by Roger and Shari Wilsey. As of 2009, LME has more than 700 employees. ==History== LME was founded in 1921 by Vincent Wren. The company began with Mr. Wren collecting milk from small dairy farms dotting the landscape around the suburban community of Lakeville, Minnesota, Vincent would deliver the fresh milk to the Franklin Creamery in Minneapolis. On the return trip he would bring back groceries and farm supplies. In 1979, LME moved the main terminal and headquarters to Roseville, Minnesota. By 1997, LME added terminals in Milwaukee, Chicago, Omaha and Des Moines. By 2008 LME has 33 terminals in 10 states including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana.
